Hippocrates said that “All disease begins in the gut”. This is certainly no less true when it comes to fatigue. I would say that around 90% of the people who come to me for help with their low energy suffer from digestive issues. It’s no coincidence.
The state of your digestive system has a profound effect on your health. 70% of your immune system is located in the digestive tract. This means the digestive system is a trigger point for inflammation throughout the entire body and inflammation profoundly affects energy levels.
You see cellular production of energy is performed by the mitochondria and these are very systems and easily damaged. So to protect themselves they will shut down and go into a state of hibernation when danger is detected.
This is known as Cell Danger Response and body-wide inflammation is a major trigger of it. Gut inflammation can be created in a couple of ways.
One way is through dysbiosis. This is when you have too many “bad bacteria” and not enough “good bacteria” in your gut. The bad ones produce substances that trigger inflammation, while the good ones produce substances that calm inflammation and heal the gut.
Another way is through food intolerances and leaky gut. This is when undigested food molecules get through the gut barrier. The immune system mistakes them for a foreign invader and attacks, setting off the inflammatory process.
In this video, we look at the root causes of your digestive problems and how they profoundly affect your energy levels. It’s pretty much impossible for someone to heal their fatigue without getting their digestive system in order, as a bad gut will always be a drain on the system.
Check out the video now for a deep understanding of what’s going on and practical guidance on what you can to do heal your gut and restore your energy levels.
